Katie Holmes wants to live a quiet life and distance herself from her failed marriage to A-lister Tom Cruise, but Tom seems to have different plans.
Just days after Holmes gave a revealing interview in which she said she did not want to be “defined” by her marriage to Cruise, Tom reportedly started dating another Hollywood starlet.
Reports this week claimed that Tom Cruise and Lindsay Lohan have started officially dating. Sources said the two had been hooking up over the last few weeks after connecting in London in early October.
“Lindsay has been craving the security and sophistication that comes with dating an older man, so she couldn’t believe her luck when she ran into her old crush [in London],” a source told OK! Magazine . “She’s head over heels.”
Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise have now been divorced for two years, and Katie said she is ready to put the past in the past. The normally private Holmes opened up about her divorce, telling People magazine. that she sees herself as an actor, not the former Mrs. Tom Cruise.
“I don’t want that moment in my life to define me, to be who I am,” she said. “I don’t want that to be what I’m known as. I was an actor before, an actor during and an actor now. I don’t have any fear now, I don’t have a lot of rules for myself, and I don’t take myself that seriously.”
Katie, who has full custody of daughter Suri, said being a mom is now her most important role.
“I’m learning every day, and I have been since the minute I became a mom,” she added. “My patience has grown, but between 4 and 6 p.m…. I mean, wow. Between tickle fights and glitter art, I try to throw in some manners along the way.”
But while Tom Cruise has a famous new girlfriend in Lindsay Lohan, Katie Holmes has also been linked to celebrities. There were reports earlier this fall that she was planning a date with recently divorced singer Robin Thicke .
