Kate Upton isn’t one to apologize to anyone for her voluptuous curves, or for breaking the mold of what a super model should look like en route to her first ever People’s Sexiest Woman of the Year Award. But she does feel sorry for one man: her teenage brother, David.
Kate explained to Access Hollywood recently why it “must kinda suck” for David that his big sis took home the prize.
“You have to imagine being an 18-year-old boy and your sister being called Sexiest Woman, it must kind of suck, although he never complains,” she said.
Upton also revealed the secret to her sexiness, telling Access “being happy” is the key, adding, “I always try to be sexy because to me that’s confidence and being happy and it’s amazing to be awarded for that.”
Kate joined several other sexy celebrities as part of the first ever People Magazine award show earlier this week. As reported by CBS News , the star-studded event included performances from Gwen Stefani, Pharrell Williams, 5 Seconds of Summer, and Maroon 5. The two-hour special was hosted by Nick Cannon, and resulted in awards for many celebrities including Billy Eichner, Jon Hamm, and Lisa Kudrow.
Selected by a panel of judges from both People and Entertainment Weekly , Aniston took home Movie Performance of the Year in the actress category while Gwen Stefani won for Style Icon of the Year.
Aside from Sexiest Woman, Kate Upton also won the award for Best Role Model, an honor she presumably received for defying the perceived stick-thin body image of most models. As reported by Inquisitr , the full-figured Upton has overcome critics, who have deemed her too “fat” to be sexy when compared to her peers (a claim that’s downright laughable considering she is still extremely fit by America’s standards).
But while everyone agrees that Kate’s is certainly a figure of great beauty, not every publication is convinced she’s the sexiest of them all. Hollywood Take feels there were more deserving choices available for the judges to select. The website listed actresses Jennifer Lopez and Kate Hudson as well as singers Gwen Stefani, Beyoncé, and Rihanna as possible alternatives to Upton. They also have Adam Levine’s blushing bride Behati Prinsloo on the list.

Still, it’s hard to argue that Kate Upton is the sexiest of them all — unless you’re her little brother, of course.
