Kate Middleton’s morning sickness just won’t go away. The Duchess of Cambridge is suffering from another bout of morning sickness just three days after she checked out of King Edward VII hospital.
Middleton’s latest morning sickness has caused her husband, Prince William, to cancel an event scheduled for Sunday to be by her side, reports Radar Online .
The Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum, which causes acute morning sickness symptoms. A spokesman for St. James Palace confirmed the Prince canceled his appearance at the British Military Tournament to spend time with Kate at Kensington Palace. The spokesman added, “It is well known that Hyperemesis Gravidarum often recurs.”
Kate Middleton’ acute morning sickness is likely causing her to experience dehydration, vitamin and mineral deficit, and also the loss of more than five percent of her original body weight. HG is normally diagnosed roughly nine weeks into the pregnancy and usually goes away by week 16 or 20.
For some pregnancies, however, the acute morning sickness can last the entire pregnancy. E! Online notes that Prince William attended the Winter Whites Gala, where he joked about his wife’s health to former Centrepoint chairman Michael O’Higgins. The Prince stated:
“I don’t know why they call it morning sickness — they should call it all day and night sickness. It’s a long old process but she is getting there. She feels like it is going to go on forever.”
Kate Middleton’s latest bout of morning sickness will likely not send her back to the hospital, though she will require a lot of rest and replenishment before she is seen in public again.
