Kate Middleton seemed to have a never-ending pregnancy, and, now that little Prince George has been born, Prince William is ready to show his appreciation.
Reports from London say William has commissioned the Queen’s jewelers to create a push present for his wife. While it’s still not clear exactly what he’ll be getting, the Daily Express says it’s rumored to be a brooch with a pink diamond.
Giving a post-baby present is something of a royal tradition, as Prince Charles gave Princess Diana an engraved gold medallion when William was born.
If the reports of the pink diamond are true, it would be a gift with special significance. Queen Elizabeth II possesses one of the finest uncut pink diamonds in the world, which was given to her at her wedding by an esteemed Canadian geologist.
Whatever gift William gives to Kate Middleton, it’s sure to come from the heart.
“William has been giving this a lot of thought for a long time,” a source close to Prince William said. “He’s got lots of ideas from studying history of art at university and decided on a pink diamond as a centerpiece because it is pretty and feminine. It will be a thank you present to Kate.”
Prince William seems more than ready to jump into fatherhood . This week he appeared at a polo match and shared some of his thoughts on living with a newborn baby. After playing alongside his brother Prince Harry at the Audi Polo Challenge in the village of Ascot, he told some of those in attendance that he was in “baby mode” ever since Prince George was born.
In all it was a good day for William, who score the winning goal in the match and took home a miniature polo stick as a souvenir for Prince George.
But Prince William has other duties as well. He returned to work with the Royal Air Force this week, leaving Kate Middleton to baby duties. That could explain the pink diamond push present.
