Kanye West’s Croissants Were Late, French Bakers Explain Why In Open Letter

By now we all have a few favorite lyrics from Kanye West’s album Yeezus . However, nothing garnered more attention than the lyrics from West’s flamboyant proclaimed track “I Am A God.”

West calling himself a God is not a surprise, as the rapper has been soaking in his own glory for a while now. In the song West raps exasperatedly about a French pastry: “I am a God/ Hurry up with my damn massage / In a French-ass restaurant/ Hurry up with my damn croissants!”

Upon the album’s leak fans took to Twitter to react to the outrageous lyric. Now months after the song’s debut, The Association of French Bakers has decided to respond and explain the reason behind West’s tardy croissants. In a cheeky open-letter to Kanye West, The Association of French Bakers penned:

“Assuming you, as a man of means, dine exclusively at high-end restaurants and boulangeries during your voyages to Paris, it could not be possible that the delay of your “damn” croissants originated from slow service.”

The Bakers Association continued on:

“The croissant is dignified?—?not vulgar like a piece of toast, simply popped into a mechanical device to be browned. No?—?the croissant is born of tender care and craftsmanship. Bakers must carefully layer the dough, paint on perfect proportions of butter, and then roll and fold this trembling croissant embryo with the precision of a Japanese origami master. This process, as you can understand, takes much time. And we implore the patience of all those who order croissants.”

So far no response has come from Kanye West’s camp about the open letter. To read the hilarious open letter in full click here.
