Justin Timberlake is bringing music back.
After a six-year hiatus, the pop music king has returned with “Suit & Tie,” a Timbaland-produced track featuring Jay-Z. The track was released late Sunday night, MTV News noted. Though fans gave the song mixed reviews on Twitter and other social media, the prevailing sentiment was relief to see Justin Timberlake making new music again after such a long absence.
During his time away from the recording studio, Justin Timberlake made a name for himself in the acting world. He gave a critically acclaimed turn as Napster founder Shawn Fanning in The Social Network and had appearances in other movies including Alpha Dog .

Justin Timberlake had announced earlier this month that he was planning new music, and, for fans of his previous efforts, “Suit & Tie” should please. It’s also a nice lead-in for his upcoming album, The 20/20 Experience, reviewers noted.
Forbes wrote that the track is a return to form for Timberlake, “a smooth, beautifully produced song which gets bogged down a little bit by Jay-Z’s usual boastful turn in the middle, but otherwise delivers everything JT’s fans have been waiting for.”
Justin Timberlake himself has addressed fans on his wesbite, writing:
“This year is an exciting one for me. As you probably have heard through the “grapevine,” I’m gearing up for a big 2013.
“Back in June of last year, I quietly started working on what is now, my next journey with that thing I love called MUSIC.
“The inspiration for this really came out of the blue and to be honest, I didn’t expect anything out of it. I just went into the studio and started playing around with some sounds and songs. It was probably the best time I’ve had in my career… Just creating with no rules and/or end goal in mind and really enjoying the process.
“What I came up with is something I couldn’t be more excited about! It is full of inspiration that I grew up listening to and some newfound muses that I’ve discovered along the way.
“I’m calling it “The 20/20 Experience,” and it’s coming out this year.”
