Dr. Dre has a new protege in the shape of Justin Mohrle, and the young musician has been discussing how the hip-hop mogul has already impacted his career.

The 23-year-old white rapper , who hails from Garland, Texas, admitted to D Magazine (via Music Times ) that he feels as though he is in safe hands with Dr. Dre.

“With the situation I’m in, Dre could decide to drop a track tomorrow, and then I might not be able to ever go to the mall again like this. Just us By myself.”

And let’s face it — the Beats Electronics co-founder has a rather great track record when it comes to molding and helping the careers of younger rappers, something he has previously done with the likes of Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and The Game.

But how did Dr. Dre come across this prestigious talent? Well, he has rapper The D.O.C. to thank. That’s because he was the one who introduced Mohrle to Dr. Dre after hearing Mohrle’s demo and being vastly impressed by it.

At the moment, though, Dr. Dre and his team are making sure to keep a mysterious aura around Mohrle.

The D.O.C. also spoke about Mohrle’s work and where it might be leading to during the interview, teasing that it might all be going towards a big project. In fact, Consequence of Sound have speculated that he could be working on a song for the follow-up to Dre’s 1999 album, 2001 , which is expected to be named Detox .

“That’s the way the house is rolling. We’re all putting our energy toward building another classic for The Good Doctor. Then he’s going to take his time to help us build a classic for the youngster.”

After starting work with Dr. Dre, Mohrole decided to relocate to Los Angeles. Since then, the pair have been spending 13-hour days in Dre’s Record One studio writing and rehearsing new material.

In fact, Dr. Dre has lined up a whole host of impressive collaborators to work on new music with Mohrle. This has included the likes of Gwen Stefani, Pharrell Williams, and BJ The Chicago Kid.

However, we might not be hearing the work of Mohrle in as timely a fashion as you would expect. That’s because D.O.C. has admitted that Dre is “going to take his time to help build a classic for the youngster.” Fingers crossed that we hear something from Mohrle in 2015.
