Justin Bieber has announced “PYD,” a duet featuring none other than R. Kelly, will roll out in his Music Mondays series this week.

Earlier today (Nov. 16), the 19-year-old took to Twitter to unveil the cover art for the musical meet, writing, “PYD PYD PYD. This Sunday at Midnight. Me and rkelly,” with an Instagram link.

As with previous six singles a purple on white theme is used and features a blocked stencil of the title.

“PYD” (Put You Down) will be Bieber’s seventh single from his Journals collection. And from a look at comments at his Instagram page anticipation for the song is high, with many noting the Michael Jackson wink.

“I just did a song [with him],” Kelly told Vibe in a recent interview. “[Justin] just called me to do a song and it’s hot. He wanted to go and do some R&B stuff so we got together and did that.”

Speculation about the pair sparked back in January when the Canadian Instagrammed a photo of himself and the veteran superstar, captioned: “Me and my homie R. Kelly.”

That was followed by his tweet last month to both Kelly and Drake, writing ,”They aren’t ready.”

Elaborating on his Bieber collaboration, Kelly — who recently teamed up with Lady Gaga on “ Do What U Want ,” Bruno Mars’ “ Gorilla, ” and rapper 2 Chains on “ My Story “— told Vibe,

“Honestly, I’m at my best one-on-one. So anybody who wants to mess with Kellz, I’m on the front line for ’em.”

If you’re not already impressed by Bieber’s weekly R&B excursions, the coming drop could be the jam to change all that.

Common ground between Kelly and Bieber is likely to be a toss up between soul-soaked melodies set to highly romanticized lyrics, or straight ahead, balls-out baby making music.

Either way, a pairing between the evolving pop prince and the man who gave the world “ You Are Not Alone ” and “ I Believe I Can Fly ” among many gems, is an intriguing one.

Meanwhile, Bieber has now returned to L.A. after a tumultuous South and Central America leg of his Believe tour. Yesterday, saw the release of the full trailer for his upcoming movie-documentary Believe which debuts on Christmas Day.

R. Kelly’s twelfth studio album, Black Panties, arrives on Dec. 10.

“PYD” will premiere on iTunes this Sunday at midnight.
