Justin Bieber has injured his ear drum while cliff diving, and says his doctor has advised he may need surgery .

The cliff diving accident took place on Wednesday, September 24.

He may require an operation to repair the perforated tissue in his ear, which is known as “tombstoning,” Mail Online notes.

Justin, 20, tweeted Wednesday about his ear drum injury, writing,

Busted my ear drum cliff diving. Doc says might need surgery now. Sucks.

The singer then went on to assure fans he wouldn’t let his ear drum mishap stop him from rolling out new music, but may delay releases.

Bieber and his current writing partner, Australian teen star Cody Simpson, are reportedly dropping their first single soon, ahead of their November releasing duets album.

“My eardrum might back us up a little, but I’m still bringing you this new music,” he wrote in a tweet. “Much love. Damn u, cliff diving!”

Shortly after Justin revealed the news about his ear drum, his manager Scooter Braun, also took to Twitter keeping it positive.

@justinbieber mr adventure. Jb is going to be fine. Changes plans a little but we are still moving full steam ahead. Big year ahead!

Bieber previously posted an Instagram video of a cliff dive he performed in July, but then subsequently removed it.

On a more sobering note, after his cliff dive in Hawaii last year, a paparazzi photog — who had been filming the singer’s jump — accused one of Bieber’s security team of assault. He later named Justin in a lawsuit claiming he ordered the alleged attack.

That case is ongoing.

In other Bieber news, following recent photographs of the Canadian singer, Simpson and David Hasselhoff posing together after working on a hush project last weekend, Justin and the 62-year-old veteran actor were seen working on-set in Venice Beach , Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon.

The styled-up pair were seen being filmed riding in the iconic Pontiac Firebird Trans Am – otherwise known as K.I.T.T -that featured in The Hoff’s Eighties hit TV series Knight Rider .

Some reports speculated Justin and David were filming scenes for Hasselhoff’s upcoming comedy movie, Killing Hasselhoff , while others muse it was for a music video.

“Justin is a great guy ,” Hasselhoff told E! News after the Tuesday shoot. “He’s cool. We’re friends.”

Details of the surprise collaboration aren’t yet known, but there is considerable curiosity among fans and media to see the end result.

The two stars previously bonded over their respective rough rides in the press, amid then reports claiming Hasselhoff posed naked surrounded by cheese .

“Can’t believe or dwell on the bs,” Bieber tweeted to the actor at the time, after he aired his frustration over the story on the social network.

Bieber added, “Just gotta know your truth. U can’t bring us down. And @DavidHasselhoff everyone loved Baywatch.”
