Julia Roberts is one of the few Hollywood stars whom you may be interested to read has never had a facelift, or any cosmetic surgery, despite the fact she’s celebrating her 47th birthday today.
During an interview to promote her role as the face of beauty brand Lancome, Roberts said she that for her, she is happy to let nature take its course, despite the massive risk that poses for her career, “By Hollywood standards, I guess I’ve already taken a big risk in not having had a facelift, but I’ve told Lancome that I want to be an ageing model – so they have to keep me for at least five more years until I’m over 50,” she said.
For the Pretty Woman star, she said she finds peace through “studying yoga on a more conscious level” and de-cluttering her life, being that she has no time for talk of any type regarding cosmetic surgery.
Interestingly, Julia Robert’s comments come in the same week that news broke regarding Renee Zellweger’s remarkable transformation, as the now 45-year-old Bridget Jones star says the extensive cosmetic work she has had done contributes greatly toward making her feel better with herself and happier in her life.
According to Roberts, attaining happiness has nothing to do with beauty, and certainly not when that beauty is as a result of going under the knife, “It’s about non-grasping, non-hoarding, cleaning out your closet, dusting out your mind and letting go of the things that weigh you down mentally and emotionally. There’s a lightness to my life now – an airy quality of not taking things too seriously. That’s happiness,” she told You magazine.
Julia Roberts also shared with reporters that looking all glamorous when not on a film set is pointless as far as she is concerned and is something far from her mind, “Mornings are a high-humour scene. You just have to make sure everyone looks and smells clean. That’s all that matters. If I actually manage to get my teeth brushed and lip balm on, I’m good,” she said.
For those of you who remember Julia Roberts from the movies she made in the 80’s and early 90’s it may come as a refreshing surprise to read that, the original “pretty woman” believes in natural beauty and doesn’t need a plastic surgeon to determine how happy she is in life.
