John Travolt a has played it cool as allegations of homosexuality, and a lawsuit were instigated by Douglas Gotterba, a former employee of Travolta’s airline company, Alto. As a result, Travolta has mostly laid low while the case is straightened out. However, in an interview with The Daily Beast , he decided to speak out and address the rumors once and for all.
The lawsuit began in 2012 when Douglas Gotterba revealed that he was “unwillingly thrust” into the public eye after two men accused John Travolta of having homosexual relationships with them. Due to the unwilling reveal, Gotterba admitted to a sexual relationship with Travolta and deemed the celebrity to be quite demanding in his preferences. During the height of the accusations, Travolta did not allow himself to be caught up in the scandal, opting to stay in the background rather than ruffle the feathers of fans, and non-fans alike, allowing the case to take its course. However, Travolta has finally shared his thoughts on the case.
“This is every celebrity’s Achilles’ heel. It’s just about people wanting money. That’s all. It happens on many levels. Also, I don’t care that much about [those types of allegations]. Other people may attack it back more than I do, but I let all the media stuff go a long time ago because I can’t control it. I think that’s why it persists, to some degree.”
Despite John Travolta ‘s cool demeanor, the veteran actor’s sexuality has been questioned many times in the past, even though he is married and has children. He never quite let it bother him, as many celebrities are victims of rumor throughout their careers, but he grew increasingly upset after the death of his son Jett coerced a slurry of rumors that Travolta’s gay lover found his son’s body.
“I found it most offensive with the loss of my son. I felt like that was the lowest I’d ever felt. Sex stuff is always going to be interesting to somebody, but you stay away from family. You really should. With that, I always felt like the media — not all of the media, but parts of it — went too low there.”
Even while sharing his views on the rumors regarding his sexuality, John Travolta remained cool and collected, allowing the readers to take from it what they will. The verdict in the lawsuit has yet to be reached, but we can expect Travolta to take it as it comes and let everyone know, despite the outcome, that he is stayin’ alive after the face off in court.
