The other day the Inquisitr reported on the two very likely candidates for Sexiest Man Alive. Those candidates are Guardians of the Galaxy’s Chris Pratt and Tony winner and next Oscar host Neil Patrick Harris. There’s been debate over which man will score the coveted vanity-filled title since the news broke.
Now we’re learning from People Magazine that Jimmy Kimmel will announce who the Sexiest Man Alive is on his late night show tonight. Every year, the unveiling of the Sexiest Man Alive has been different, but Kimmel will take this year’s honors for the second time in a row.
People Magazine released a statement about the unveiling of their Sexiest Man Alive earlier.
“The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host will reveal and interview PEOPLE’s 2014 Sexiest Man Alive on his ABC show tonight! It’s the second consecutive year of sexy for Kimmel, who hosted 2013’s SMA Adam Levine on his talk show last year for a tongue-in-cheek awards ceremony (‘People of America,’ said Levine, ‘great choice. And you’re welcome.’)”
Although at first we were convinced that Neil Patrick Harris had an honest shot at being People’s first openly gay Sexiest Man Alive, we don’t think it’s going to go his way. Although he has a high profile hosting job coming up with the Academy Awards, Chris Pratt is a bit ahead of the Tony award winner.
Pratt has successfully transformed himself into a fitness babe (although we enjoyed him as the adorable Andy Dwyer from Parks & Recreation ), has hosted SNL , and despite naysayers was able to bring in huge box office numbers on his own with Guardians of the Galaxy. All of that aside, what really clinched it was GQ announcing that Pratt was the Man of The Year, along with Steve Carell, Ansel Elgort, Dave Chappelle, Michael Sam and actress Shailene Woodley.
This is a huge push for Sexiest Man Alive if ever there was one.
We don’t know if the Sexiest Man Alive is on Pratt’s brain, but he did give GQ a few ideas about who he would nominate for Man of the Year. According to Pratt, his choices would be “Russell Wilson, Richard Sherman, the entire roster of the Seattle Seahawks, maybe Pete Carroll too.”
