Since Jimmy Fallon has taken over The Tonight Show , he has been on one major roll! Jimmy has gotten nothing but awesome media coverage, and glowing reviews from the television critics. He is adding a fresh new energy to the show, that The Tonight Show hasn’t seen for decades. Whether Fallon is doing impressions, interviewing hot celebs, or creating internet content, the show couldn’t be hotter. Fallon’s latest hit is the video parody that he created of the viral video, First Kiss.

After filmmaker Tatia Pilieva’s First Kiss video went viral earlier this week , Jimmy decided to put his own spin on the clip, which features 20 strangers meeting and kissing for the first time. Fallon’s version, which debuted on Thursday, March 13, is called First Lick, and stars a cute and cuddly cast of puppies and kittens. Jimmy knows that NOBODY can resist puppies! Fallon said of his video creation:

“There’s been a bunch of parodies. We decided we’ll jump into the ring here. So we made a parody of our own, but we used puppies and kittens. I think it came out pretty well.”

You can watch the adorable video below:

This video is just the latest evidence that Fallon is reinventing the late night TV watching experience. The Los Angeles Times recently sang Fallon’s praises : “Whether he’s playing Flip Cup with Annette Bening, photo-bombing tourists with Jon Hamm, taking a Polar Plunge dare from Rahm Emanuel or just chatting it up with the endless array of his ‘very favorite’ people, Fallon has, in less than two months, re-framed the franchise and sparked the kind of audience excitement ‘The Tonight Show’ hasn’t seen in years.”

Even his predecessor has had nice things to say about Jimmy Fallon. As everyone knows by now, unless living in the wilderness, Fallon took over the show after Leno’s 22 year run as the host. (With a minor Conan O’Brien run thrown in). Jay said recently of Jimmy Fallon:

“I think he’s doing great. I’m a huge fan of Jimmy. We talk once or twice a week. He brings a new energy and a different vibe to the show.”

Fallon’s next, and most important, challenge will be to maintain the top spot in the late night ratings. It appears that his main competitor may not be long time host, David Letterman, but the younger, hipper Jimmy Kimmel. Fallon and Kimmel are poised to become this generation’s Leno and Letterman.
