The Duggar family has welcomed another baby as Jessa Duggar has given birth to a baby boy. The announcement was made by Jessa’s sister-in-law, Jessica Seewald, at approximately 7 p.m. CST. Ben Seewald’s sister posted the news on her Instagram page .
The new father, Ben Seewald, is the eldest of seven children and Jessica Seewald is Ben’s 18-year-old sister. She has been seen at many Duggar family events, including the recent baby shower held for Jessa and Ben and filmed by TLC for an upcoming special on the birth of Jessa’s baby
One apparent fan page – though not an official Duggar family page – was right on with birth prediction on a Facebook page.
The birth of the baby was confirmed by a family spokesman to People magazine. At about 10 p.m. CST, the Duggar family made an announcement on its Facebook page .
“So excited!!!!! Ben and Jessa have had their sweet new baby! A beautiful baby BOY!!!!! More details soon. Mom and baby are both doing great! Thanks for all your prayer!
“Congrats Ben and Jessa, we love you!”
It is known that Jessa was planning a home birth, to be filmed as part of the TLC special Jill and Jessa: Counting On , which will air in December. So far, the births of ten Duggar family babies have been filmed by TLC. The new arrival will raise the count to number 11. TLC also announced the birth of Jessa’s baby boy on its Facebook page.

One Facebook page, which posts about the Duggar family, is reporting that Jessa was taken to a nearby hospital in an ambulance after an 80-hour-labor. So far, that is just a rumor.
Duggar family fans have been anxiously awaiting the birth of Jessa’s baby since the announcement four months ago that she was expecting. Jessa and Ben married on November 1, 2014, and the baby’s due date was on their first wedding anniversary, just a few days ago.
The last picture posted of Jessa showed the very pregnant mother-to-be out for a lunch in honor of her birthday on Wednesday. She and husband Ben had lunch with Jessa’s sisters, sister-in-law Anna and their baby niece.
Fans are anxiously awaiting more news on baby Seewald and are, of course, curious to know his name. In a summer of troubles and Duggar family scandals , watching Jessa’s pregnancy progress has been a welcomed diversion. Jessa has posted numerous selfies on her Instagram and Facebook pages over the course of her pregnancy and these were shared thousands of times across the internet. Now, it is expected that she will shortly be posting pictures of the new baby.
This will be the sixth grandchild for the Duggar family parents, Jim Bob and Michelle. The eldest son Josh has fathered four children with his wife Anna, and Jessa’s sister Jill delivered a baby boy on April 6 with her husband Derick Dillard.
The new baby born to Jessa Duggar (23) and husband Ben Seewald (20) has these five cousins: Mackynzie Duggar (6), Michael Duggar (4), Marcus Duggar (2), Meredith Duggar (3 months), and Israel Dillard (7 months).
With 19 children of their own, family patriarch and matriarch, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, could easily become grandparents to more than a hundred by the time all of their children are grown and married. The youngest of their 19, Josie Brooklyn, will turn 6-years-old on December 10.
