Jenny McCarthy probably didn’t think she would find herself in the midst of a Twitter debate when she posted a simple, philosophical question to her followers on Thursday.

The ex- Playboy Playmate Of The Year got slammed by many after her controversial anti-vaccination views were called into question. It all started when she Tweeted: “What is the most important personality trait you look for in a mate? Reply using #JennyAsks,”

It seems that Jenny McCarthy’s Twitter followers and fans sidestepped that difficult question, and began slamming her for the anti-vaccination thing. One person replied : “Somebody who gets that refusing vaccines because of ‘toxins’ and then shilling for e-cigs makes you a pathetic hypocrite #JennyAsks,” another posted “Someone who think vaccines are safe.”

Whilst McCarthy has yet to reply to the Twitter debacle, either to defend herself or otherwise, the comments against her keep flooding in. Another notable Twitter response showed the level of sentiment some people who received the Tweet felt on the matter: “Someone who believes in data & science, not discredited, fake medical ‘experts’ or anecdotal evidence.”

Jenny McCarthy has been well-known as someone who is against the idea of vaccinating children to protect them from diseases like polio and measles due to their controversial links to autism. Furthermore McCarthy has personal experience with autism as her 11-year-old son, Evan, has the condition.

During a famous interview with chat show legend Larry King back in 2008, Jenny McCarthy said: “We need to get rid of the toxins, the mercury — which I am so tired of everyone saying it’s been removed. It has not been removed from the shots.”

This isn’t the first time Jenny McCarthy has taken to Twitter to discuss the matter. Back in January of this year, following allegations that her son Evan didn’t in fact have autism, McCarthy took to Twitter saying those allegations were: “blatantly inaccurate and completely ridiculous.”
