Jennifer Lopez is single now, despite an earlier report that she and Casper Smart got back together. According to Us Weekly , the American Idol judge was doing press for her new film The Boy Next Door when she was asked about rumors that she and Smart had reconciled.
“I’m single right now. I think being on my own has been really great for me. There was a time where I was just like ‘Ehhh, I’m just not going to deal with anybody, I just want to be on my own.’ Now I’m getting back into the mix. For right now, I just have no announcements to make.”
Jennifer Lopez saying she is single now is a bit surprising, given the information that was made available earlier in the week. As previously reported by the Inquisitr , JLo and Smart haven’t really spent too much time alone, even after announcing their split. The two were together on New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas, where they partied the night away in each other’s company, and likely even shared a kiss at the stroke of midnight, which sealed the deal for many media outlets.
“Lopez, 45, and Smart, 27, were at Caesars Palace for Lopez’s The Best Is Yet To Come show. There have been several rumors about Lopez landing a residency in Vegas, and you can bet that Beau will take part in that if it happens. Whether he dances in the show or choreographs some of the numbers, it seems obvious that Lopez trusts and respects his work in the dance industry.”
Jennifer Lopez might just be saying that she’s single now because she isn’t ready to go public with Casper Smart just yet. The two have had somewhat of a rocky relationship, especially recently, and maybe Lopez doesn’t want any additional media attention. She is really focused on her career right now, and will more than likely be moving to Vegas soon, so she has a lot on her plate. The last thing she probably wants to do is discuss her love life… and who could blame her?
According to Mail Online , JLo dated Smart for two and a half years before breaking things off with him. This was her first serious relationship since her split from her third husband Marc Anthony. The “Booty” singer still talks to Anthony as the two are committed to raising their kids together. Anthony got remarried in November.
