Jennifer Garner is not sugarcoating her divorce to Ben Affleck for the kids sake. After Garner and Affleck made the difficult decision to divorce after ten years of marriage, Garner’s friend said that she’s been very honest with children Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3 about the divorce.
According to Garner’s friend, she told People , “Her strength is what made her who she is. She has risen up in this situation. It’s unbelievable. She’s such a good mom and she’s honest with them – she’s not sugarcoating this.”
As the Inquisitr reported, Ben and Jen whisked their kids away for a family vacation in the Bahamas for the Fourth of July weekend. This was a calculated move to keep them away from the public scrutiny as the divorce news was released to People and other outlets.
A day after their tenth wedding anniversary, Ben and Jen announced their decision in a joint statement. “After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time.”
Since this statement made headlines, there have been a myriad of stories trying to pinpoint what exactly happened in their marriage. A lot of reports cite that Affleck had infidelity issues with women, and some of those women might have been co-stars. Others have cited that Ben and Jen were just different people and wanted different things.
A source said that Jennifer asked too much from Ben, and although he thought he was being a present husband in the midst of his busy schedule, she needed more. Another source said that it was Ben’s boozing and gambling that caused a rift between the couple.
Despite these reports, the soon-to-be exes have really stuck to their plan and have been a united couple for their family. Not only did the two put together a trip to the Bahamas, but days after Ben left the vacation, he hopped a flight to be with his family in Atlanta , which is where Garner left for after the Fourth of July weekend. The actress is currently filming Miracles From Heaven . Affleck is also in Atlanta for his film Live By Night, which also starts filming in Atlanta.
In addition to sticking together on set, Ben and Jen will never be too far away from each other. For the sake of the kids, the two plan to live on the same property, just not in the same homes.
