Jennifer Aydin Reveals If She Ever Considered Divorce With Bill Aydin After Affair Scandal
Jennifer Aydin has always been vocal about her marriage and the equation she shares with her husband Bill Aydin on the hit reality series The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Speaking in an exclusive interview with E! News, the reality star claimed, "If I didn't break up with him after him having an affair, I'm definitely not going to break up with him after a little a few hiccups over the children. Parents fight over children, children cause stress to a marriage, but you make it work."
When asked about considering a divorce from her plastic surgeon husband after tough accusations of his decade-long affair surfaced in the 12th season of RHONJ, she exclaimed, "Never, not even once." It was revealed during a heated discussion between Margeret Josephs and Jennifer in the previous season that Bill Aydin had an affair with a pharmaceutical rep for 2 years, taking viewers by surprise.
Season 13 of the reality show, which debuted on February 7 this year, follows the famed Aydin couple as they sought therapy to work on their ongoing marriage issues. Soon enough, Jennifer assured their fans that the problems aren't as serious as they might look on the televised version of their lives. "Sure, there's going to be times where he annoys the s--t out of me or when I annoy the s--t out of him," she explained. "That's marriage, for better or worse, till death do us part. I look at him and I'm like, 'You're stuck with me.'"
According to Page Six, not long ago Jennifer had joked about an impending divorce with Bill while stating that she is "happy to walk away with half of the plastic surgeon’s fortune." In that episode, she had said to her husband, “You think we’ll make it another 19 years? Because at this point, like, if anything happens, bitch, I get half! Let’s cheers to that, baby. Well, maybe not for you. But I’ll drink to that!” and held up her margarita.
The mother of five kids — Justin, 17, Gabriella, 14, Jacob, 13, Christian, 11, and Olivia, 10, whom she shares with Bill — expressed she had suppressed the pain his infidelity inflicted. “I don’t give a s—t. I was home. I was tending to three small children [while] pregnant. You were doing your thing without any consideration of me,” she reflected. “And I swallowed the pill that it was and I was like, ‘I’m going to be a tough girl and I’m not going to talk about it.’ And I’m sorry. I’m sick of always giving you a pass.”
Bill, tried to calm down the situation during their dinner date in season 12 by saying that the affair “happened many years ago.” In a confessional, Jennifer revealed that it felt “really good” to air her grievances directly with Bill. “I didn’t hold back. I’m telling him finally what’s going through my mind,” she stated. “And now that the ball’s in his court, let’s see if he’ll finally do anything about it.”
At present, RHONJ's March 21 episode was packed with a tense therapy session between the longtime couple in which Bill, in his signature style, remained silent. Reacting to this Jennifer briefed their fans: "I've been reading the comments like 'he's so disinterested in her' or 'you could tell he's annoyed by her,'" she said. "My husband doesn't really know how to act when the cameras are around. He is a medical doctor, he's not a reality TV star. He shows up for me and he takes all of this for me."
She continued, "He's always worried and he wants to make sure he says the right thing," she continued. "He gets [a] little nervous. Me, I just throw whatever comes out naturally. Watching it back sometimes I'm like, 'Maybe I should have taken it down a notch.'" As for where their marriage stands currently? "Things have not been better," the Bravo star gushed. "It has been amazing. There's like an extra skip in our step and it's great." The Real Housewives of New Jersey airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
