Jenna Coleman loves to live in the past, making her a rather good companion for television’s favorite Doctor. It seems, however, that Jenna would like to step out of the T.A.R.D.I.S. for a while and settle down in the 19th century.

Jenna Coleman has spent three years on the show Doctor Who, and has played Clara Oswald under the tenure of two Doctors. Coleman began her run on the show under Matt Smith’s run as the 11th Doctor, after Amy Pond and her husband, Rory, were blinked out of the time stream to a too-dangerous-to-be-saved-from New York. Jenna has been playing Clara Oswald since, and has been the 12th Doctor’s companion since Peter Capaldi took on the role.

The Mirror reports that Jenna Coleman seems to have filmed her final scenes for the hit show, and that her last appearance before her next project will happen sometime before the star-studded Christmas Special, which will include many celebrity guest appearances and cameos, including the return of River Song, who is played by Alex Kingston.

The BBC reports that Jenna Coleman gave an interview and expressed her thoughts on the nature of being on a seemingly infinite show like Doctor Who.

“You’re in Doctor Who knowing it will never last. It’s constantly regenerating, so you want to make your time count and enjoy the adventure for the fleeting time you’re here.”

A series about Queen Victoria was announced by the British network ITV in May, and as of yet, there has been no announcement about who will be cast in it. It was written by novelist Daisy Goodman, and is being produced by the producers of Poldark. Jenna Coleman, since she has already has finished filming on Doctor Who, is expected to play the role of Queen Victoria in the series.

Rumors of the involvement of Jenna Coleman in the series are made more believable by a source that the Mirror has not revealed.

“Jenna clinched the role of Victoria a while ago but it’s been a very closely guarded secret.”

Jenna Coleman has actually wanted to leave the show for a while, and Coleman actually asked to be written out of it a while ago, after the Season 8 finale. Steven Moffat revealed that he did not want Jenna to leave.

“But the truth is I never wanted her to go. And with Last Christmas, I’d already written the alternative version where she stayed, and I preferred that version Frankly, I didn’t want to lose her.”

Peter Capaldi, however, seems happy for Jenna Coleman, and said he was “thrilled” that she was signed up for another show.
