Jenelle Evans and Nathan Griffith were seen discussing her ongoing custody issues with mother Barabra in a new sneak peek at tonight’s Teen Mom 2 . While chatting, the couple, who have since split, reveal their thoughts on a recent phone call Evans received, during which a teacher of Jace’s recommended he not move from his North Carolina school to be with her in South Carolina where she and Griffith have a house.
As the sneak peek , shared by PEOPLE Magazine on August 6, continues, Jenelle Evans’ conversation with Griffith focuses on her plan to regain custody of her son and relocate him to South Carolina against the recommendation of the teacher. Jenelle Evans even goes on to claim she will limit her mother, who has had full custody of 6-year-old Jace since shortly after his birth, to just one visit per month.
“If Jace ends up moving down here, I mean, her visiting him… I don’t know how that is going to go because I want full custody now. You know, I’m going to be a little selfish for a while and keep him to myself. Not every single weekend, maybe once a month.”
Upon hearing Jenelle Evans’ plan, her then-fiance encourages her against the idea, claiming Jace shouldn’t be taken out of the home he’s known since he was a baby. Instead, he claimed, Jenelle Evans should be “slowly transitioning” him into having more time with her.
Jenelle Evans, however, is focused on paying her mother back for keeping her from him in the past and doesn’t understand where Griffith is coming from. She also appears to be unaware of what will be best for her son, who has been reliant on Barbara as his caregiver for his entire life.
“Everyone can keep me from my son, but when Jenelle wants to keep him from Barbara and let her see him once a month, it’s a big issue. I don’t know how I feel about this because every time an issue comes up, it’s like Nathan is never my teammate.”
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Jenelle Evans and her mother have been at odds for weeks on Teen Mom 2 , and during tonight’s episode, Evans is seen telling Barbara she’s just a grandparent , and “that’s all you will ever be.”
