Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler left Sunday’s game against the Washington Redskins with a groin injury. He did not return to the contest.

Cutler was injured with 10:09 remaining in the second quarter after he was thrown roughly to the ground on a hard sack by Chris Baker.

Baker swung Cutler to the ground and quarterback’s lower body came down on top of Baker’s knee.

Cutler remained on the ground and writhed in pain as Bears’ medical staff quickly ran to his aid.

After a long examination Jay Cutler walked off the field under his own power, but limping. Bears medical staff walked Cutler to the locker room for immediately x-rays.

Cutler was not having a good game prior to the injury. He had completed just 3-of-8 passes for 28 yards. Cutler also threw an interception which was returned 29 yards for a touchdown by Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo.

The severity of Jay Cutler’s injury is not known at this time.

The young QB is no stranger injury. In 2011 he suffered a torn medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his left knee during the Bears’ 21-14 loss to the Packers in the NFC Championship Game. Following his MCL injury fans criticized Cutler for giving up without a fight. The day after that MCL injury was reported Cutler was photographed walking up several flights of stairs under his own weight. While an MCL injury like that suffered by Cutler allows for some mobility, it still angered Chicago Bears fans to see him on the go.

The severity of the quarterbacks most recent injury is not yet known.

Do you think Jay Cutler needs to be replaced by the Chicago Bears ?
