Jason Sudeikis loves his fiance Olivia Wilde and his home state of Kansas, but thinks it’s best to keep the two separate when it comes to the couple’s wedding.
The Saturday Night Live player has a soft spot in his heart for his home city and the state of Kansas, and has even gotten Olivia Wilde to love it as well. But Jason Sudeikis thinks it best to stay away from the Jayhawk State for their nuptials, and downplayed rumors that he’s having the wedding near the University of Kansas.
“It’s definitely not in Lawrence,” Sudeikis told the Kansas City Star. “It was never gonna be. I don’t know how those things start.”
It’s not that Jason Sudeikis have ill felling toward his home state. In fact, he’s gotten Wilde to fall in love with Kansas as well.
“She has adopted Kansas City,” his mom Kathy Sudeikis told People before a charity event, “Giggle With Gilda,” headlined by her son and Wilde.
It will be a wedding Olivia Wilde wasn’t sure would happen. Though the actress has jumped to the A-list with a slate of movies and magazine photo spreads , Wilde thought she was out of her league when she first met Jason Sudeikis.
“I thought, ‘He won’t be interested in me; I’m not a contender,’ ” Wilde told Marie Claire in a recent interview. “He was so cool, so funny – I was such a fan of his and had always fancied his speed and his intelligence.”
When she met Sudekis, Olivia Wilde has just burst onto the Hollywood scene with a lead in the Fox medical drama House, and Jason was already an established star on Saturday Night Live .
“I thought, ‘I’m not beautiful enough or his type,’” said Wilde .
Though he said it won’t be in Kansas, Sudeikis offered little more about where the bi-coastal couple actually could have their wedding.
“It’ll definitely be a wedding tour,” Jason Sudeikis joked to the Kansas City Star . “Everywhere you’ve heard that we’re getting married, we are,” he said adding that they’ll even have a tour bus. “Lot of waving. Lot of pie eating.”
