Jason Aldean’s tour dates have just been announced for 2016. The We Were Here 2016 Tour will kick off in mid-January and will hit 22 U.S. cities. Additionally, for the first time ever, the country juggernaut will play three cities in Australia.

The Morning Call reports that Jason Aldean has sold more music digitally than any other male country performer according to the Recording Industry Association of America. Of his six studio albums, four of them have hit No. 1 with 20 gold and platinum singles. The singer is probably best known for his singles “Dirt Road Anthem” and “My Kinda Party.”

Since the October 2014 release of Aldean’s album Old Boots, New Dirt , it has gone platinum and won the Billboard Music Awards’ Top Country Album while “Burnin’ It Down” won Top Country Song.

The We Were Here 2016 Tour is named after Aldean’s newest single “Gonna Know We Were Here,” and a video for the song was just recently released. Aldean explained the reason why the newest tour is named after the song. “Gonna Know We Were Here” is about how he and his fans live their lives and perfectly describes the excitement he feels while on the road.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr , Aldean surprised his hometown of Macon, Georgia, last month when he showed up to film the music video. Downtown Macon was essentially closed down while the video was shot and thousands of fans showed up to see the country superstar.

Much of the video features Aldean’s alma mater, Windsor Academy, and includes a shot of him walking past the trophy case of his old high school.

According to Aldean, using his hometown as the backdrop for the video provided the right mix of energy and feel that he was looking for. “It was pretty cool that we could bring that vibe to the music video, too, by shooting it back in Macon with a ton of people from my hometown,” the singer said later.

Jason Aldean must really mean what he says and truly enjoys being on the road entertaining fans as much as possible. Currently, the singer is just now finishing up his current Burn It Down 2015 Tour. The last 2015 Jason Aldean tour dates include three shows in Florida ending on October 24 in West Palm Beach.

Jason Aldean tour dates have been released; however, ticket prices have not yet been announced. Aldean’s website states We Were Here Tour 2016 tickets will be available for sale October 23 in select cities.
