James Van Der Beek has another baby on the way.
On Friday his wife Kimberly announced that the couple is expecting their third child , due this winter.
“All of the craziness, exhaustion and moodiness aside, James and I are beyond elated and feeling so incredibly blessed,” Kimberly wrote on her lifestyle blog, Old School New Rules. “Olivia and Joshua are in on the news and seem to be excited about a baby coming into the family. And James, thank you for being the loving, caring and understanding husband and father that you are.”
Kimberly said she suspected she might be pregnant and took a pregnancy test, but it was inconclusive. But just before she and James were set to take a month-long vacation with friends, she took another test. They would be attending a wedding during the trip, and Kimberly wanted to know if she would be safe to have a glass of champagne.
“I thought, before I go traveling, maybe I should know how many glasses of wine are appropriate or not,” she said.
The test was positive.
Kimberly and James Van Der Beek were going to keep the pregnancy a secret, but the 36-year-old actor said his mom figured it out.
“She just had a feeling. She even wrote down what she thought would be a due date,” Kimberly added. “Some people knew — my friends call me every pregnancy and say they had a dream that I was pregnant.”
It seems James will have a steady source of revenue to support his growing family. After his show Don’t Trust the B***h in Apartment 23 was canceled last year, Van Der Beek signed on to a new CBS sitcom , Friends with Better Lives . The multi-camera show will follow a group of 30-something friends who “each thinks the other one has it better.”
James Van Der Beek will play a character who distrusts everyone after his ex-wife cheated on him, a role that sounds remarkably different from his home life.
