ISIS spokesman Abu Mosa once promised to “humiliate” the United States on the battlefield and “raise the flag of Allah in the White House,” but he will never get the chance to see his vision put into action.
The spokesman for Islamic State, once known as both ISIS and ISIL, has been killed by the Syrian Army.
Abu Mosa gained fame when he was featured in a Vice News documentary, in which he delivered a big threat to the United States.
“I say to America the Islamic Caliphate has been established and we will not stop.”
Mosa added, “Don’t be cowards and attack us with drones. Instead send your soldiers, the ones we humiliated in Iraq. We will humiliate them everywhere, God willing, and we will raise the flag of Allah in the White House.”
Later that week, an ISIS supporter tweeted a photo of the black ISIS flag on his phone while standing in front of the White House, Opposing Views noted.
ISIS has been ramping up its conflict with the United States , which has been executing missile strikes against ISIS positions in Iraq. This week militants beheaded American journalist James Foley, while also warning the United States not to get into the conflict.
“This is James Wright Foley, an American citizen of your country,” Foley’s executioner said in the video, speaking in a British accent. “As a government, you have been at the forefront of the aggression towards the Islamic State. You have plotted against us and have gone far out of your way to find reasons to interfere in our affairs. Today, your military air force is attacking us daily in Iraq, your strikes have caused casualties among Muslims…. any attempt by you Obama to deny the Muslims their rights of living in safety under the Islamic caliphate will result in the bloodshed of your people.”
Though reports of Abu Mosa’s death were still not confirmed, a pro-ISIS Twitter account mentioned his death, saying: “This brother Abu Moussa was martyred during missile clashes” by the Syrian Arab Army in Raqqa.
