It’s been a whirlwind 24 hours for Fast and Furious star Tyrese Gibson. The actor lashed out at co-star Dwayne Johnson on Instagram yesterday, and within hours, began posting emotional videos over his daughter. Now it appears he has decided to let all the Rock drama go.
Tyrese posted a photo on Instagram of himself with Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel. In a long rant, the actor claimed he would leave the Fast and Furious franchise if the Rock was cast in the next installment.
The Rock was offered a spinoff film from the franchise, which single handedly delayed the production and release of Fast and Furious 9 . This didn’t sit well with Tyrese, who felt the move was selfish and a slap in the face to the rest of the cast.
He later posted pictures intentionally cropping out the Rock, but that was the calm before the storm. Tyese took his meltdown in a different direction and posted an emotional video on Facebook that lasted seven minutes. Tyrese was in tears begging his ex-wife, Norma Mitchell Gibson, to not take away his daughter, Shayla.
Just this afternoon, Gibson posted another video on Instagram claiming innocence over his current child assault charges. His ex-wife accused the actor of physically abusing their daughter. Tyrese hasn’t seen Shayla in two months and is fighting for joint-custody of the 10-year-old. The 38-year-old actor sat down with People and denied the allegations .
Now Tyrese has turned his attention back to the Rock as he posted a photo with the Baywatch star alongside Vin Diesel. At the time of the post, Tyrese omitted a caption. A few minutes later he let his fans know the reason for the photo.
He claims to have had a “heart to heart” with one of the Rock’s “associates,” and promised not to post about his co-star again. Tyrese said he respected the person he spoke to, but wouldn’t name names.
He also seemed to confirm he would be back in Fast and Furious 9 as he boasted about the film’s director, Justin Lin. He said the new movie will “feel like the true #FastFamily all over again.”
Tyrese ended the post mentioning his late friend, Paul Walker. He said “when we see Justin… we see Paul.”
It seems like everything is on the right track for Fast and Furious 9 , which is set to premiere in 2020.
