E! Entertainment’s Fashion Police seems to have been on a downward spiral since September when Joan Rivers died. Taking her place, Kathy Griffin briefly brought comedic influence to the show.

On a February episode of Fashion Police , host Giuliana Rancic made a statement about Zendaya Coleman’s hair on the Oscars red carpet. Zendaya, 19, was sporting long dreadlocks which made Giuliana’s statement seem racially motivated. Following the show, co-host Kelly Osbourne quit the show because she did not want to be associated with racism. She recently appeared on The Talk where she expressed her appreciation for the time she spent on Fashion Police .

“You know what, it was the five best working years of my life,” Kelly said. “I am so grateful for the experience… working with Joan Rivers for five years was incredible. I learned so much and I’m excited for my future. I want to try new things.”

Following the brave Kelly Osbourne blow-back, Giuliana made a statement claiming that she had been misunderstood.

“I’m sorry I offended you and others. I was referring to a bohemian chic look. Had NOTHING to do with race and NEVER would.”

Now, Kathy Griffin has also announced that she is leaving Fashion Police , with a long and intense statement on Twitter.

Before all of the “patchouli oil and weed” madness, the show hosts were not getting along. As all of the hosts are under agreements, it is quite possible that Kathy may be using Giuliana Rancic’s unfortunate misstep as an excuse to leave a hostile work environment. Kathy and Juliana reportedly disagreed quite often on the show.

In earlier years, Joan Rivers was known to make harsh comments about celebrities’ attire and made the show popular by doing it. In one episode, Rivers reportedly accused January Jones of having an STD.

“This woman obviously has a yeast infection and the doctor said to her, ‘Aerate it.’”

It is likely that Giuliana Rancic was simply trying to uphold a legacy.

Fashion Police is currently on a break. E! may be canceling the show due to the issues, NY Daily News reports There have been no reports on whether or not the show will return to E! in the coming weeks, but there has been speculation that if the show does not return, Keeping Up With The Kardashians , will fill its place. The reality series just premiered its tenth season, making it an easy filler that will not take away from the network’s revenue.
