The buzz abounds in reference to what will happen on Grey’s Anatomy when Ellen Pompeo leaves after season 12. Rumor now has it that Shonda Rhimes is planning to kill Dr. Meredith Grey.
As reported earlier in the Inquisitr , Ellen Pompeo has yet to renew her contract with Grey’s Anatomy, so the plot needs to be written for the exit of the title character, Dr. Meredith Grey .Thoughts are that this will be the time that Rhimes exploits the Alzheimer’s Disease that has been haunting Meredith Grey since the diagnosis of her mother, the infamous Dr. Ellis Grey.

The Gospel Herald is reporting that there are many twists and turns ahead on season 12 of Grey’s Anatomy .
“But before the [rumored] killing part, Meredith will be having a another love interest in the form of Martin Henderson” Movie News Guide wrote and added, “Henderson was reported to enter the longtime medical drama as a new doctor and a potential new love interest of Meredith. It was rumored that Henderson could be the new male lead since Patrick Dempsey’s character, Derek, is already dead. He died in a car accident, leaving the poor Meredith with three young children. This led to speculations that Henderson’s character will fill the missing pieces in Meredith’s life-he will help her to manage her professional and personal life.”
Shonda Rhimes won’t confirm or deny the rumor that Grey’s Anatomy will lose its title character, but she did hint at rough waters to come for the whole cast.
“Now, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and the entire ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ family are about to enter uncharted territory as we head into this new chapter of her life. The possibilities for what may come are endless. As Ellis Grey (Kate Burton) would say: The carousel never stops turning,” Rhimes said, adding her gratitude to the man who brought the character of Derek Shepherd to life.”

Meanwhile, Ellen Pompeo is tweeting about the variety of hunky actors on season 12 of Grey’s Anatomy .
“@shondarhimes knows how to pick them… My brothers..I mean.”
By brothers, she meant the hunky Kevin McKidd, Justin Chambers, and Jesse Williams, plus now full cast members Jason George and Giacomo Gianniotti. At the very least, Season 12 will be full of serious eye candy for many viewers.
But regardless of what happens to Dr. Meredith Grey, a number of cast members have renewed for three years, meaning that Grey-Sloan will stay open for business.

The New York Daily News is suggesting that Shonda Rhimes is running out of ways to test Meredith Grey and Ellen Pompeo. It was suggested that when Meredith wanted to die, a mute ironically was the only person who could save her.
“When she tried to kill herself and was saved, only to learn her mother died. A depressed Meredith drowned and the only onlooker to save her was a mute girl. After a bizarre afterlife scenario, Meredith managed to return to life hours later and discovered that her mom had died.”
