iPhone iOS 9 Beta Users Experiencing Annoying Pop-Up Messages

Several iPhone users who used iOS 9 Beta are experiencing some annoying messages. Tech Times first reported about the problem last week.

“Some iOS 9 beta users are reportedly receiving notifications that the full version of the new mobile OS is now available, but it’s just a glitch.”

The Independent had an article on the same topic. However, one commenter thinks this isn’t news, since it has happened on iPhone devices before.

“Uh huh. And this is a surprise – or even newsworthy – why? Same exact thing happened with iOS 7 and 8 – especially during the iCloud Drive and Apple Photos debacles,” claimed commenter LINDROS2.

The full release of iOS 9 last week was supposed to change the issue on the iPhone, whether one thought it was newsworthy or not. However, not much has changed.

How exciting: now with every phone unlock iOS 9 beta users get prompted with an “upgrade to iOS 9” message.

One of the solutions to get rid of this pop-up message (which appears every time you lock and unlock your iPhone) is to upgrade to iOS Beta 9.1. However, several users on the MacRumors forums have found many problems with the updated operating system.

“Did anybody mention very slow Apps download from the App Store and iCloud? Terribly slow, hours to download somethings small…,” mentions user myname70.

“Seems every third party app I use kills the battery. Facebook, Candy Crush, Downcast. SiriusXM in particular causes a 1% drop every other minute,” mentions user nooaah.

However, there have been a few users who have praised iOS 9.1 Beta. GSM Arena talks about some of the new features in iOS 9.1 Beta .

“iOS 9.1 brings with it some new emoji, better performance compared to iOS 9, and some new developer APIs enabling apps to take advantage of 3D Touch and Live Photos. It also includes features for the newly unveiled iPad Pro, gaining support for the Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil.”

Although users have a right to be angry about Beta versions not working correctly, they also have to understand the risks taken with downloading Beta software. Besides the few bugs and glitches, there haven’t been any huge issues with iOS 9 or iOS 9.1 Beta. There have been some rare reports of phones becoming bricked, but that’s normal even with non-Beta upgrades. Are you experiencing problems with iOS Beta upgrades?
