Trying to order an iPhone 4G off the AT&T website today was like trying to run Firefox on a Mac while loading Adobe Flash scripts, basically it was very frustrating and unworkable at times, but ultimately the phone was placed in our cart and ordered. Unfortunately if you plan on ordering the device from this point moving forward you probably won’t get it at first shipment.
Even the official Apple online store is now showing a July 2nd ship date, rather than the original launch date of June 24th, leading us to believe that Apple has sold out of the devices.
Considering only a portion of AT&T customers were able to actually pre-order the device with an upgrade it’s a pretty crazy feat for Apple to manage in such a short period of time, especially after many Apple users had already ponied up a good chunk of cash to buy an iPad in the last month.
With Apple and AT&T now sold out of the devices you’ll need to be prepared to stand in line on the day of launch if you want to get one of the elusive remaining handsets.
