The KCOM Stadium will be full of noise on Tuesday night when Premier League outfit Hull City hosts EFL Championship leaders Newcastle in the quarter-final of the EFL Cup.
History will be made if Hull wins against Newcastle as this will be the first time the home side have reached the quarter-final of the league cup.
Hull City has a poor start to this season’s league campaign as they are currently lingering in the 18th position of the table. However, their performances in the EFL Cup have been highly impressive.

Newcastle currently tops the Championship table, and they are huge favorites to gain the promotion to Premier League next season. Their form has been excellent in the EFL Cup as well. In the last game, they defeated Preston 6-0 in a totally one-sided affair.
Both teams have won two, drawn one, and lost two matches in their last five matches against each other.

Manager Mike Phelan is expected to make some changes against the Magpies for this tie.
Sam Clucas will miss the match due to suspension after collecting his fifth yellow card against West Brom in the last match. In the same game, Ryan Mason was substituted at the half-time because of an illness. So, he is doubtful to start the match against Newcastle.
Abel Hernandez is also out of the match with a groin strain, while Will Keane is ruled out for the whole season due to a knee injury.
The likes of Alex Bruce and Moses Odubajo will be also be unavailable for selection due to injury concerns.

Massadio Haidara and Robert Elliot, both, are doubtful to be included in the staring eleven as their injuries keep them out of the team.
Fringe players like Dwight Gayle and Mohamed Diame may get a chance to start, while Captain Jamaal Lascelles too might make a comeback to the side.

Hull City’s form in EPL has been below ordinary this season. They have only won three out of their 13 league games, and they were held to a 1-1 draw in the last match against West Brom. Hull’s players look out of touch at the moment. But, playing at their home should be a huge bonus for them.
Newcastle United is currently leading the EFL Championship table with 40 points. Although they lost at the hands of Blackburn Rovers in last match, they are in decent form in overall this campaign.
