Caitlyn Jenner’s views on gay marriage is the talk of the town after she guested on Ellen DeGeneres’ show and said that she still struggles with the concept of gay marriage , but is “on board” with it, as the Inquisitr previously reported.
Ellen DeGeneres was taken aback by Jenner’s comments, and she discussed her confusion during a guesting on Howard Stern’s SiriusMX show on Tuesday. DeGeneres said that Jenner still has “judgement about gay marriage” and it makes it confusing for people who are watching her.
“And I said ‘You’re wanting people to understand and accept you — this is like, really confusing to people — and you still have a judgement about gay people and marriage.”
Howard Stern seems to understand where Ellen DeGeneres is coming from and said that it is “crazy.”
“Here’s a person on TV crying, ‘I want to be myself, I want to be genuine, I don’t want people to ridicule me’ and then says in the same breath, ‘Gee, gay marriage, I don’t get it.’ It’s remarkable!”
Howard Stern then asked Ellen if Caitlyn Jenner danced with her. Every guest on Ellen’s show enters dancing after being introduced, and they spend a few seconds getting jiggy with DeGeneres before sitting down for their interview. Unfortunately, Caitlyn didn’t dance with Ellen and she said that she thinks Caitlyn isn’t a dancer. She also jokingly added another possible reason why Jenner didn’t dance with her.
“Maybe she didn’t want to dance with me because I’m a lesbian.”
Despite Ellen DeGeneres’ confusion over Caitlyn Jenner’s views on the concept of gay marriage, she says that the interview was great and she was grateful that Jenner sat down with her on her show, as the Huffington Post reports.
“I don’t really know her and I’m trying to understand it because I don’t fully understand it either — but I also want everyone to be happy. So I don’t fully understand all of that, but I want her to be happy — which is what I want for he [to want] for me.”
Ellen DeGeneres came out as a lesbian in 1997 and is a supporter and member of Human Rights Campaign’s Coming Out Project and the Parents & Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG). DeGeneres started a relationship with Portia deRossi in 2004 and they have since been married since 2008.
Ellen also said that what’s confusing about Jenner is that she’s Republican and conservative.
“I think a lot of Rebuplicans are wishing she wasn’t Republican,” Ellen said.
