How to Train Your Dragon 2 is scheduled to be released this June, but trailers for the movie are now starting to appear. Perhaps the most shocking thing from the new trailer is that Hiccup’s mom is — apparently — alive!
How to Train Your Dragon 2 will show that the popular assumption that Hiccup’s mother is dead simply is not true because she is taking a prominent role in How to Train Your Dragon 2 .
We just got a chance to review the new trailer for How to Train Your Dragon 2 and there are several interesting discoveries that we find in the trailer. Here they are:
There’s a Whole Other World of Dragons Out There
The trailer for How to Train Your Dragon 2 gives us a very clear look at a different land that is full of different types of dragons — big ones, small ones, mischievous ones, scary ones, etc. They’re all there — and so is Hiccup and Toothless, apparently co-existing pretty well with these other dragons .
Hiccup’s Mom Is Alive
Apparently Hiccup and Toothless cross paths with a mysterious and interesting woman. At first, Hiccup has no idea who she is, but it’s obvious that his mother knows her son right away. Hey, no fair making How to Train Your Dragon 2 a tear-jerker without warning!
Mom Is a Dragon Whisperer
Apparently Hiccup’s mom in How to Train Your Dragon 2 knows some kinds of sweet ways to trick out a dragon. A touch of Toothless’ spine brings out some kinds of blades. Pretty cool. According to mom, “Every dragon has his secrets.” She follows up by telling Hiccup, “I’ll show them all to you.”
Drago Bludvist Is a Madman
Lest you think that all was fine in Berk, we find out mid-way through the trailer that some dude named Drago Bludvist is coming into town, making claims that he can control all of the dragons in How to Train Your Dragon 2 . Seems like a bad power to have in the wrong hands.
Mom and Dad Are Happy
Perhaps you were afraid there would be some weirdness when Hiccup’s parents see each other again for the first time in what seems to be a couple of decades in How to Train Your Dragon 2 . It looks like that won’t be too much of an issue. Hiccup’s dad still looks very smitten and mom seems happy too.
