Are you ready for a special Honey Boo Boo wedding? Mama June and her longtime boyfriend Sugar Bear will be exchanging vows later today.
According to TMZ , June Shannon and Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson will be getting married later today in Georgia. The event will be filmed and will probably end up on TLC as a wedding special.
TLC hasn’t announced any plans to air the special Honey Boo Boo wedding but it sounds like an event made for reality TV. It’s unclear if June and Sugar Bear will be chasing pigs, mud wrestling, or bobbing for apples, but they did apparently request for the people working the wedding to wear “full redneck attire.”
June and Sugar Bear have been together since they met in an online chat room 9 years ago. They lived a pretty normal life, drinking go go juice and going to beauty pageants, until their daughter Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson became a reality star on the show Toddlers and Tiaras. The show eventually lead to a spinoff, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, which features the little girl and her interesting family.
Shannon said : “A lot of people say they can relate to us … Our fan base tells us that when they have a bad day they can be able to watch our show and be able to get a good laugh; I honestly laugh at the show too because it is kind of funny, because we know we have fun filming it. It’s just all about having fun making memories.”
