As part of her “No Ceilings” initiative launched November 1st, 2013, Hillary Clinton has announced a global data drive, requiring a new partnership between the Clinton Foundation and the Gates Foundation in furthering the empowerment of women in the 21st century.

“No Ceilings: The Full Participation Project” aims to share the progress that women and girls have made since Clinton’s speech to the 1995 United Nations Beijing Conference. The Clinton Foundation hopes to chart a course forward to where women and girls will more fully participate in politics, education and economies all over the world. Clinton, recently named as one of the world’s most powerful women , desires to help women around the world have a bigger voice.

To chart this forward course for more female participation around the world, Hillary Clinton announced the global data drive to collect and analyze data to help review the advancement of women and girls over the last 20 years. According to the Star Tribune, Clinton made the announcement from New York University, known for its Department of Social and Cultural Analysis.

This new partnership between the Clinton Foundation and the Gates Foundation will collect and analyze global data related to the growth of women in politics, education and economies world wide. Clinton, in her New York University announcement, said that progress is being made in furthering the empowerment of women and girls, but that there is insufficient global data showing what steps need to be taken to further advance female participation in world issues. The hope is that this global data drive will uncover facts and issues that will help further the “No Ceilings” initiative.

The Clinton Foundation believes that only by empowering women and girls can communities reach their full potential. By lifting women and girls out of poverty, whole families, communities and societies are improved. With a global data drive, current problems that women and girls are facing can be addressed and hopefully eliminated, empowering them and enriching the communities wherever they live.
