A high schooler defended a blind kid from a bully, taking him to the ground with just one punch! According to the New York Daily News , a video of the incident has since gone viral online. It all went down around lunch time at the Huntington Beach High School in Southern California. Though it is unclear when the fight actually happened, the video (below) surfaced on Wednesday.

“You trying to jump a f—— blind kid, bro? What the f— is your problem?… I swear to God, if you f— with this kid again, I will f— you up,” says high school student, Cody Pine, who came to the blind student’s rescue.

The blind kid was being tormented and punched, but was defenseless, according to SportAct . It is unclear how or why the fight started. It is unknown if this was planned, or if there was something that set the bully off, but the scene was fairly chaotic for a short period of time.

“[The video] shows a boy punching another boy, who has his hands up in defense around his face but is not returning hits. It looks like the attacker was winding up to throw another punch when a third teen knocks him to the ground. He then walks over to the blind teen and asks, ‘Are you OK, Austin?’”

While the high schooler who defended the blind kid from a bully is being called a “hero” online this weekend, admins at Huntington Beach High School are still looking into the incident and have already taken action — against Pine.

“Huntington Beach High School firmly believes that all students are afforded an opportunity to learn in a safe and secure environment. Because of this, safety is the highest priority. Huntington Beach High School has a very strong anti-bullying code of conduct and will not condone this type of behavior from any student.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr , police are involved in the case and said that there was a “history” between the bully and the blind kid, but they did not elaborate. The bully was arrested, but Cody Pine got in trouble too. Pine was kicked off the school’s football team.

Despite using violence to stop violence, many people have sided with Pine and hope that the school realizes that his actions were necessary. What do you think?
