Another Heroes original is heading back to the land of Tim Kring. NBC announced that its 13-episode revival of the Heroes will go on with some original cast members and some new faces for new and engaging stories.

One of the people returning is fan favorite Hiro played by Masi Oka. The actor spoke to TV Line about returning to the new NBC show.

“I’m excited to return to my Heroes roots. Hiro Nakamura was such an inspirational role to play, and I’m hoping the fans will enjoy seeing him back on TV.”

For those who need a bit of brushing up, Hiro Nakamura was a computer programmer-turned-time traveler. His transformation from peppy optimist took a drastic turn as the series progressed.

Heroes creator Tim Kring announced the news of Hiro’s return, “We are thrilled to have Masi back in the Heroes family. The character of Hiro Nakamura was such a huge part of the first series’ success, and a gigantic fan favorite. We felt the fans would really love seeing him back in action again.”

For most of us, Heroes was the first time we were introduced to Zachary Quinto. It was before he scored the role of Spock and became a household name. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to see Quinto reprise his role as Sylar.

According to the Inquisitr , Quinto wasn’t up for the idea to reprise the role, saying, “I’m not going to do it.” Instead, he wants to “cultivate other experiences.”

During the TCA press tour , Quinto said it was due to other projects keeping him away from the NBC series.

“I’ve been in touch with Tim [Kring, creator] and he told me they were doing this and we left the door open for me to be involved, the trouble is really my availability.”

He continued, “I don’t know that it would really even be possible. And it’s a challenge for me because that experience and role and opportunity really changed my life completely and sent me on a path that I might not have otherwise have been on, but at the same time I’m very interested in forward momentum, I’m very interested in expanding and defying people’s expectations of me.”

That said, Oka won’t be the only Heroes alum returning. Jack Coleman, who played Noah Bennet, will also be in the series. New cast members include Zachary Levi, Ryan Guzman, Robbie Kay, and Danika Yarosh.
