Melania Trump is known for her youthful appearance and how gracefully she is aging. The First Lady, who is 55 years old, is famously known for her healthy diet and health habits.

On several occasions, Melania has credited her youthful appearance to her healthy diet. She even previously shared the recipe for her superfood smoothie that went viral. Here’s a list of foods the FLOTUS consumes regularly to maintain her youthful and healthy appearance.

Melania’s Superfood Smoothie

Mrs. Trump has previously confessed to drinking a smoothie that is packed with a bunch of superfoods. In an interview with More magazine, the First Lady revealed how her everyday smoothie includes spinach, celery, banana, yogurt, raspberries, and Omega-3.

In another Facebook post, the former model shared the full recipe for the smoothie, noting that it contains lemon juice, orange juice, and vitamin D. “When you eat a diet full of fruits and vegetables rich in antioxidants, it does wonders for the skin and your complexion,” she shared.

Freshly Cut Up Fruits

Another 2014 Facebook post from the First Lady made her love for fresh fruits clear. The photo featured a plate full of sliced pineapple and a chopped-up banana. The plate also contained raspberries and blueberries.

The two types of berries have also made their way into her superfood smoothie. Inside Edition also reveals that Melania consumes multiple servings of fresh fruits throughout the day.

Elisa Bremmer, who is a dietitian, shares how blueberries can be called “brainberries” because of their benefits. The expert shares how the significant levels of anthocyanins are linked to brain health. Research has observed that adults who consume blueberries for 12 weeks have greater brain activity. The dietitian shares how raspberries, similarly, contain anthocyanins.”But with the added bonus of extra fiber – in all those tiny seeds,” she adds.

Melania Consumes Flaxseeds Daily

One of the main ingredients in the First Lady’s daily smoothie is flaxseeds. Leann Poston, a physician tells spoke to Health Digest about the health benefits of flaxseeds. “Flaxseeds are high in protein, fiber, and omega-3 fatty acids,” Poston shares.

The seeds are also rich in phytochemicals, also known as phytonutrients. One of the most crucial phytochemicals that helps lower the risk of cancers related to hormones.

Fat-free Yogurt

The First Lady reportedly uses fat-free yogurt instead of regular yogurt in her superfood smoothie. Low-fat or fat-free yogurt is a great source of protein. The specific type of yogurt also contains calcium. Calcium in the food can help with blood clotting, muscle health, and strengthening the bones.

The ingredient is also a great source of probiotics, which helps with gut health. Good gut health is directly linked with keeping the digestive tract running smoothly.

Melania Avoids Artichokes and Onions

The First Lady has spoken about her aversion to artichokes and onions while she appeared as a guest on the show ‘Martha.’ While in conversation with Martha Stewart, Melania confesses to actively avoiding eating the two vegetables during the episode that aired in 2005.

According to physician Leann Preston, onions contain several very important nutrients, including vitamin C, phytonutrients, and flavonoids, including quercetin. Artichokes are also an “excellent source of folate, protein, dietary fiber, vitamin C, and vitamin K.”

Melania Takes Hydration Seriously

The 55-year-old has previously spoken to More magazine about how important it is to stay hydrated. “I also tell women to drink a lot of water because it hydrates the skin,” she revealed.

Cassie Christopher, a registered dietitian, notes how important it is to drink a sufficient amount of water it is to maintain your overall health. The human body is made up of 60% water, according to a report by The Nutrition Source. The body is constantly losing fluids, which need to be replenished through a steady intake of water. Women reportedly need to have 72 ounces of water, and men need to have 104 ounces of water.
