British actor Henry Cavill has called Detroit, Michigan home for the past six months and for the first time is talking about his experience in the Motor City. Cavill was in Gibraltar to participate in a run for a Royal Marines charity, an organization that provides assistance to past and present service members.

Taking a break from filming the Zack Snyder blockbuster Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Henry flew to Europe to participate in the Royal Marines 350th Anniversary Rock Run, climbing the massive Gibraltar staple. As always, the Brit has been spotted in several fan photos posted all over social media.

One of the actor’s many fansites, Henry Cavill News, sat down with the 31-year-old during his time in Gibraltar and asked him about his time in Detroit and what he really thinks about the place he’s called home for so many months.

“There are so many horror stories about Detroit, and Michigan, and none of them are true. I’ve really enjoyed it, actually.”

This is Henry Cavill’s second time visiting Detroit in the past few years. The actor, who played Superman/Clark Kent in Man of Steel is reprising his role, this time to face another superhero, Batman, played by Ben Affleck, who has also praised and promoted Detroit .

Cavill has been spotted in several local establishments during his time in the city , including the local gym, restaurants, and even a local festival, where he has always been gracious to his legions of adoring fans. It was no different this past weekend when Henry came to support his brother Nick, who is a Royal Marine.

During his time in Detroit Henry Cavill has not only been working very hard, but also forging lasting friendships.

“I met some really wonderful people that have become true, close friends. Downtown Detroit is a bit worn, certainly, but the suburbs there are fantastic.”

As far as how Henry feels with all the attention he is getting after starring as Superman in Man of Steel and now that he is getting ready to do it all over again for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice , the actor told HenryCavill.org he is taking it all in stride.

“You get used to it. It’s definitely a different lifestyle to begin with. I think it’s probably more of a pain for those who are with me because they’re used to going from one place to another and it taking ten minutes because that’s how long it takes to get there. But with me it will take half an hour to an hour because I have to stop and say hello to people and take photographs. I’m used to it. It’s probably more of a burden to those who aren’t.”

Henry Cavill and the rest of the cast and crew on Batman v Superman will remain in Detroit for a few more days and then the production reportedly moves to Chicago. Stay tuned to the Inquisitr for all the latest.
