Adele’s sultry tones have turned the pretty singer into one of the most successful artists of the modern era. Hits like “Rumour Has It” and “Rolling in the Deep” have sold millions of copies around the world, but now she might be about to conquer the film world too!
She is reported to have visited the Abbey Road Studios over the last few weeks to record a song for the latest Bond film, Skyfall , the 23rd edition of the movie’s franchise.
The movie’s soundtrack is currently being recorded at the infamous venue by the composer Thomas Newman, who the film’s director Sam Mendes appointed and has worked with throughout his career.
Newman has composed the likes of Finding Nemo , Wall-E , and Mendes’ Revolutionary Road and American Beauty and has been nominated for the Academy Award on 10 occasions but has yet to receive to win the award.
Chris Cornell, who performed the theme song for Casino Royale entitled “You Know My Name,” has previously told MTV News that Adele is the right choice to record a Bond anthem :
“I can’t think of a better one. She’s pheonomenal and it’s nice, in a day and age where so many vocals are fixed by computers, that the biggest album of last year was somebody who sings for real.”
The 24 year-old singer is currently expecting her first child and, over the last few years, has sold over 22 million copies of her second album 21 around the world. Skyfall is due to open in late October and marks the anniversary of 007’s excursions.
