An overly enthusiastic “ Harlem Shake ” dancer found himself engulfed in flames when he fell into a raging bonfire.

Don’t try this at home — or anywhere else.

For some reason, he and three friends in Germany thought it was a good idea to perform their version of the dance craze in front of an inferno. But he lost his footing and fell into the bonfire. See embedded video below (he’s in the background, and you’ll note that the dude in question violates “Harlem Shake” protocol when begins dancing a bit prematurely).

Fortunately it appears one of the other dancers bravely pulled him out of the conflagration before the man suffered any serious injury. Reportedly, it is traditional for German residents to light up bonfires during the Easter season.

Across the internet, commenters are referring to this particular video rendition of the “Harlem Shake” as the Harlem “bake.” Or as Inquisitr colleague David Cornell put it, “Harlem Shake ‘n Bake.”

As one website quipped , “See, this is why you must NEVER attempt a viral dance craze once it’s past its expiration date! It might leave you with an acute BURNING sensation.”

The “ Harlem Shake ” is an internet fad (or more precisely a former fad) that reached the viral level earlier this year. Typically, amateur videographers begin “Harlem Shake” footage with one person dancing — often masked — in the foreground while others ignore the dancer and go about their normal activities in the background. After a short spurt by this individual of lonely, comical dancing, the bass drops, and madness ensues as everybody in frame springs into an odd pose to strut their stuff while usually wearing weird costumes.

As your mother told you, playing with or around fire is never a good idea.

Do you think the “Harlem Shake” fad is still hot or has it cooled off?
