Happy Birthday to Prince George of Cambridge!
Kate Middleton and Prince William’s firstborn turns two today, and it’s safe to say he has managed what Kate’s husband didn’t — take the spotlight away from his mother.
Any time Prince George makes an appearance, everyone pays attention. The young royal has become a favorite whenever the Cambridges are out and about for family or formal events.
The third in line to the British throne took his time coming into this world 2 years ago, and gave his mother quite a hard time at the beginning of her pregnancy. Now, as the world marks Prince George’s birthday, he seems happy, mischievous, and full of energy.
Kate Middleton and Prince William have tried to shield their son — and now his sister, Princess Charlotte — from undue media attention, but they also realize the interest their family receives. This need to expose the children to the public have resulted in a few precious appearances, and the images are nothing less than adorable.
To celebrate his birthday, Prince George and his family are said to be traveling to their home in Anmer Hall, Norfolk. Not included in the guest list is the toddler’s grandfather, Prince Charles, or his great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
Prince George’s first birthday was a royal affair, with William’s side of the family present, including the Queen, and the Irish Guards’ band playing happy birthday. This time around, things will be a lot more low key. The festivities are said to be a private family celebration.
With the help of sister Pippa Middleton, and party store owner mom Carole Middleton, Kate will surely be able to treat her little one to a special day. The family will be surrounded by close friends and their children, who have become Prince George’s playing buddies, as they grow up together.
