Telltale Games is putting the wraps on two of its episodic game series over the next month. The finale to Tales from the Borderlands just launched while the fate of House Forrester will be decided in November with the sixth episode of Game of Thrones .

Reviews for the final episode have been excellent so far, with the Metacriticscore for the PC release hovering above 90. That’s an improvement over previous episodes for Tales from the Borderlands, which ranged from a high-70 to a mid-80 score.

Tales from the Borderlands takes place after the end of Borderlands 2 and stars Troy Baker as Rhys and Laura Bailey as Fiona, the game’s two primary protagonists. Both are our looking for the big score and the key to one of Pandora’s fabled Vaults. In addition to a slate of new characters, classic characters from the franchise make return appearances, including Handsome Jack, Zer0, Marcus, Mad Moxi, Scooter, and even Claptrap.

“In the final episode of the season, The Vault of the Traveler , all hell breaks loose,” the description for the finale reads. “Jack is now in control of Helios’ systems, and he’s ready to reclaim his rightful place as king of Hyperion (with or without you). It’s a mad dash to get out of the chaotic space station alive, as everyone scrambles to grab the final Gortys piece and high tail it back to Pandora. Can you guide our ragtag team through perilous corporate dangers in hopes of getting some sweet alien riches? Loyalties will be tested, secrets will be revealed, and explosions will be in large supply in this climactic chapter of Tales From The Borderlands .”

Meanwhile, Game of Thrones: A Telltale Game Seriesis set to wrap up its first season on November 17, with the final episode titled, “ The Ice Dragon.” If the schedule holds, this will be the first time the developer releases an episode for all platforms at the same time. A retail release for consoles and PC is also planned for the same day.

The series is based on HBO’s Game of Thrones television series with actors and actresses from Peter Dinklage to Emilia Clarke reprising their roles in guest appearances. The primary focus of the episodic game series is on House Forrester and its five playable protagonists, which provides a novel-like experience for players.

“The epic conclusion to the season is the most ambitious and diversely presented episode we’ve ever produced,” said Kevin Bruner, CEO and Co-Founder of Telltale Games. “The fate of House Forrester has been in the hands of players all season long, and the finale will be tailored to provide a uniquely harrowing conclusion for each and every player based on the decisions they’ve made in the game thus far.”

Metacritic reviews for the first five Game of Thrones episodes have been mixed thus far. The Metacritic ranking hovers between 70 and 80 for the PC and console platforms. The negative marks have largely revolved around the surprisingly choppy performance of the episodes, while the story has largely been praised for having the right mix of George R.R. Martin shocking twists.

The first episode of both Tales from the Borderlands and Game of Thrones are now free to download for all platforms from the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Steam, iTunes, and Google Play. The starting price for the entire season of the former is $24.99 while the latter is $29.99.
