Adobe Flash is used on 98% of computers around the world and now the FTC has taken an active interest in how the programs cookies are installed and uninstalled on user computers.

If you’re familiar with Flash cookie tracking you are probably aware that cookies are not deleted via standard practices, such as deleting browser cookies, a fact that has irked some critics of the company’s tracking procedures.

According to Adobe their cookies, referred to as local shared objects were never intended to track a users every move and they insist they do not use the objects against a users wishes.

The best answer Adobe has for the FTC and concerned users? Download and use Google Chrome which allows users to control Flash cookies directly from the browser’s privacy controls, good news for Google, not such good news for Microsoft and Mozilla who’s Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers do not yet directly allow for Flash Cookie removal.
