Burt Reynolds made his first ever appearance at Philadelphia’s Wizard World Comic Con over the weekend, however in the process he instantly worried fans with his frail appearance.

The 79-year-old actor, who has previously appeared in films like Deliverance, Boogie Nights and Smokey & The Bandit, was seen using a cane to aid his walking. However that didn’t stop the actor from speaking to his many fans as part of an in-depth Q&A session, which was held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Burt Reynolds underwent quintuple heart bypass surgery back in 2010, which came just 12 months after he’d been in rehab for his addiction to painkillers. Then, in 2013, he was forced to go to the hospital after he was struck down with influenza.

Reynolds, who is busy promoting the release of his upcoming memoir, But Enough About Me , which is due out in November and is his second memoir, made several personal revelations, and even revealed that his favorite film of his is Deliverance . Burt Reynolds was joined at the Wizard World Comic Con by Machete actor Danny Trejo and the original Incredible Hulk , Lou Ferrigno.

Ahead of the event, Burt Reynolds talked to Philly.com about what he expected at his first comic con. Reynolds insisted, “I haven’t done this before. I think it’s a good time to find out what it’s all about. I always enjoy talking to fans and I’m usually very pleased with their curiosity about my career, what I’m doing, what I’m not doing, and why I’m not doing more.”

Meanwhile Reynolds , who lives in Florida, admitted that the proudest achievement of his career is that he’s still actually working.

“At this age, I’m proudest of the fact that I’m working and I’ve been working very steadily almost the entire time,” he continued. “It’s been a very mixed bag, but it’s been good.”
