Reports are just beginning to circulate as the blogosphere wakes up that a Fox News Twitter account has been embarrassingly hacked.
One thing no one seems to be mentioning is that the account that was hacked is @FoxNewsPolitics . The main @FoxNews account- the one with over 780,000 followers- has not been compromised. As for content, whoever hacked the account used it to extensively tweet about a spurious assassination of Barack Obama, as shown below in the screencaps.
Initial reports have speculated the hack could be linked to Anonymous as part of the #antisec push, but there’s no evidence as of yet that the information is credible. The @FoxNewsPolitics Twitter has just over 34,000 followers. As of 8:10 AM EST, the hack has not been cleared from the Fox feed, and the tweets reporting President Obama remain on the page.
