Jaden Newman is a fourth grade girl at Downey Christian School in Orlando, FL. She’s nine years old and at first look is just like any other girl her age. Except she plays on the Girls Varsity Basektball team and starts at point guard.
As a fourth grader, Jaden Newman is averaging 14.8 points per game and 7.5 assists per game. She has been playing basketball since her parents put a ball in her hands at the age of three . Smart move mom and dad. There has been no stopping the basketball prodigy from that point forward.

The fourth grade phenom is not alone in the gene pool. Her brother, Julian Newman is a basketball prodigy as well . Starring on the Boys Varsity Team at Downey Christian School, Julian is a sixth grader who averages 16.7 points and 9.6 assists as the team’s starting point guard. The dynamic duo is getting national recognition for doing things that other basketball players have never done.
“She wants to be like Diana Taurasi,” said the children’s dad Jamie Newman, who is also the head coach for the Downey Christian boys’ and girls’ varsity teams. “She wants to play for her country, for Connecticut and in the WNBA.”
The two have been featured on Conan , ESPN , and many other news outlets. Jaden’s highest point total in a basketball game is 63. And she was playing against boys on her AAU team. Both Julian and Jaden Newman are names to remember for a long time.
