Forza Horizon 2 is out for XBox consoles, but people using the XBox One might be running into a little problem. Due to glitch between the game and the XBox One hardware, the very purpose of Forza Horizon 2 is thwarted — there’s no road to drive on.

Forza Horizon 2 ‘s designers are well aware of the freezing problem. Playground Games has released an official statement promising a speedy fix to get XBox One gamers behind the wheel of Forza Horizon 2 as quickly as possible.

“We’re aware of an issue with the October preview beta dashboard update that’s causing these freezing/lockups for some users, a fix is incoming soon.”

Forza Horizon 2 ‘s glitch looks rather odd when you come across it in the game. Your car stops behind an invisible wall of glass, and then you look ahead to see the same happening to all your racing mates. The oddest detail of all is that Forza Horizon 2 ‘s earth literally falls out from under you. Skip ahead to 1:46 to see the glitch in action.

Thankfully, Forza Horizon 2? s opening day glitch can be averted by a few sly tricks, including putting your XBox One in energy saving mode or occasionally performing a full reset on your device. Load the Game explains in detail exactly why Forza Horizon 2 ‘s glitch is plaguing the title.

“Allegedly, the source of this issue lies in Xbox One’s memory handling process. The console has a slow and gradual way of accumulating memory, and this seems to be causing the Xbox One to struggle in keeping up an optimal rendition pace for the huge gaming environment of Forza Horizon 2, where the player gets to transition very fast from one position to another. This task puts a tremendous strain on the system’s RAM unit. The faster the player will move around in the game, the more difficult it will be for the memory unit to keep up. This is why the console needs to have the capacity to efficiently flush high volumes of memory.”

The reception for Forza Horizon 2 has been extremely positive, with many reviewers hailing it as the best racing game title of all time. AusGamer wrote that Forza Horizon 2 had succeeded in converting the reviewer into a racing game fan.

“The year’s not over yet, but this is the best game I’ve played in 2014 so far, and I’m not even a huge car person. Well, I wasn’t before. An absolute must-own. “

Are you testing out Forza Horizon 2 for issues on XBox One right now? Have any issues to report?
