Who doesn’t love a good theme park? If you’ve been dying to become the next Walt Disney — or are just a savvy real estate investor — you can own Bedrock City with your very own Flintstones theme park.
Located in Williams, Arizona, a theme park and campground is located about 30 miles south of the Grand Canyon. It was created by the Speckels family, who have operated it since Bedrock city opened in 1972. The park boasts a gift shop, restaurant, RV park, and convenience store. But after 40 years of entertaining guests, the Speckles are ready to close the doors on Bedrock.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr , in true Jurassic style, Bedrock City includes a volcano , named Mt. St. Wilma, after Fred Flintstone’s wife, a brontosaurus that’s also a slide, and a large statue of Fred himself. The 70s throwback is up for grabs for $2 million — less than a house in West Palm Beach or Los Angeles. But the real question is why Bedrock has been put up for sale .
“My mother is 73 and she and my father [Francis “Hudi” Speckels] built that business,” daughter Holly Hulen told ABC News from her home in Bedrock city . “My father passed away over 20 years ago. She’s been running it herself, and she’s ready to retire. She’s ready to enjoy her grandkids and not worry about managing a business.”
While Bedrock City certainly is an attraction by itself, the licensing agreement with Hanna-Barbera, which produced the Flintstones , doesn’t come with the sale, and would have to be renegotiated. If that doesn’t suit you, the 30-acre park has a lot of opportunity for real estate investors to snatch it up for property development, or for commercial reasons, such as replacing Bedrock City with a strip mall.

“I believe that it provides a lot of opportunity for somebody,” Hulen says.
Besides the volcano and brontosaurus, there’s plenty of options, according to the brochure:
“Thirty acres offers plenty of room to grow. This unique property has unlimited potential,” according to the Huffington Post , and “includes “a 3,800-square-foot residential housing that offers two separate living areas, two kitchens, four bedrooms complete with vanity sinks, and two-and-a-half baths. This would provide excellent employee housing.”
Bedrock City in Williams, Arizona, isn’t to be confused with the Bedrock city in Custer, South Dakota, which is managed by Hulen’s distant cousin. Hulen’s father worked at that property before starting Bedrock City in Arizona.
For $2 million — and some planning — Bedrock City could be yours for the taking.
