A bartender at a country club frequented by Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner has been indicted on charges of threatening to kill the congressman, allegedly plotting to poison him.

Michael Robert Hoyt, 44, was indicted January 7 on charges that he plotted to murder Boehner by placing poison in his drink, according to WCPO . Hoyt had served drinks at the Wetherington Country Club in West Chester, which Boehner reportedly frequents, for over five years, before he was fired in October.

In a grand jury indictment filed in U.S. District Court in Ohio, it is stated that Hoyt called police in late October, prompting them to visit his home. According to the Huffington Post , Hoyt allegedly told the responding officers that he was Jesus Christ, and that he planned to kill John Boehner because the congressman had mistreated Hoyt and was, in his view, responsible for the Ebola scare that made headlines last year, as the Inquisitr previously reported.

According to United States Capitol Police (USCP) Special Agent Christopher M. Desrosiers, Hoyt revealed that he had a loaded gun in his home, which police confiscated.

“Hoyt advised he had a loaded Beretta.380 automatic and he was going to shoot Boehner and take off.”

Hoyt, who was treated for a psychotic incident two years ago, also allegedly told officers that he regretted not having enough time to put something in Boehner’s drink. He told investigators that he poured wine for Boehner frequently, and could have poisoned it with ease.

Boehner’s spokesman, Michael Steel, noted that the speaker was aware of the incident.

“Speaker Boehner is aware of this situation, and sincerely thanks the FBI, the Capitol Police, and local authorities in Ohio for their efforts,” he said.

Hoyt reportedly said that he began hearing voices after he was fired, which told him Boehner was evil. He also typed an 11-page-blog in which he declared that Boehner is the devil, which he emailed to his father, ex-girlfriend and neighbor. Surprisingly, Hoyt even contacted Boehner’s wife, Debbie, through email the day before he called police.

Hoyt is currently being evaluated at the Federal Medical Center, where he was sent on December 16. He is one of three people who have been charged for threatening to kill John Boehner this year.
